Prostate Cancer Screening

Posted on:

As part of a national effort to improve early diagnosis—given that around 40% of cases are currently detected at advanced stages—we are working with the Humber and North Yorkshire Cancer Alliance to identify men at higher risk and offer PSA screening.

Who is this for?

This project is for asymptomatic, (those without symptoms) Afro-Caribbean ethnicity, and a family history of the disease. If you have symptoms or concerns, please contact us to arrange a clinical review.

What to expect:

  • Eligible patients will receive a text message inviting them to complete a short questionnaire about first-degree family history (father, brothers, sons).
  • Those identified as higher risk will be offered a PSA blood test.
  • Follow-up and monitoring will be arranged based on the results.
